Realm of Echoes
A real-time fantasy MMORPG that runs directly in the browser

Hi everyone,

We're sharing the current playable build of Realm of Echoes. It is a shared-world 3D MMORPG that runs in a normal browser tab: choose Warrior or Mage, name a hero, and enter as a guest without installing a client or creating an account first.

Current features

  • Real-time shared-world movement and combat
  • Warrior and Mage class gameplay
  • Bosses, personal loot, equipment, abilities, and progression
  • Other online heroes, world chat, parties, trading, guilds, and professions
  • Eight onboarding quests plus 180 regional quests
  • Nine regions with a campaign path toward level 30
  • Optional account linking to retain a guest hero

The current atlas contains 188 campaign quests in total: eight tutorial quests plus 20 quests in each of nine regions. The live build can be played now, and we're looking for feedback rather than signups.

Technology

  • Three.js browser client
  • TypeScript Cloudflare Worker for the public client/authentication surface
  • Rust compiled to WebAssembly for the gameplay worker
  • Cloudflare Durable Objects for authoritative live-world state
  • WebSockets for live sessions and D1 for account/recovery persistence

What we'd like feedback on

  • Does the first five minutes explain enough?
  • Does combat feel responsive and readable?
  • Which MMO system would you expect next?
  • How does performance feel on your browser and hardware?
