So..where do I start?

I never really got a chance to get out of the whole map development area. But I decided to make my own server now, I understand it isn't an easy task but I would be really thankful if you answer a few questions I have.

So...
1. VPS or dedi? I want to have a server with no lag, and around 300 -2k players possibly (in my dreams LOL, but worth a try).
How much RAM will I need, disk space ect.?
2. I am new to c++ and all that good stuff, and to be honest I don't really enjoy it. I prefer graphic design and 3D modelling (which I have quite a lot of experience with) over coding. So is it a good idea to hire developers for updates and such? if so, is ragezone a good place to find them? (Of course I understand that nothing in life is free and it might be pricy sometimes)
3. Do people offer any kind of 1 on 1 lessons or services that would point new server developers in the right direction or answer stupid little questions? I guess ragezone's help section is the place but I feel uncomfortable spamming the forum with little questions.

So what do you think does it worth for me to even bother and start learning and running or server or should I just stick to my lil graphic designs?

If I was you I would start with,
Learning how the "flyff" source works. You should try the basic stuffs as, implanting 3rd jobs/quick job changer into a source. When you find a way to work with the flyff system. What I mean by "system" is how the flyff source works. After you get some experience then you should buy a dedi. If you want to start with making a flyff private server, start with a clean source. IMO to have any success in running a server, you'll have to know at least a little bit from each separate area. If you know a little bit about coding, you'll have a better understanding of why feature A would be easier to implement than feature B or why it would take more or less time, etc.

That and having multiple skill sets never hurts. I've had experience with 2D graphics, modelling, coding, web design, and composing. I'm mostly skilled in coding, but when the others talk about their respective fields, I for the most part know what they're saying. :3c
