[SQL]Remote mysql connection to a MU Server?

So im just wondering, how (if you could) connect to a Mu Online server
Do they have to open some ports?

MU uses MSSQL, so you'd need to make a MSSQL connecting, not a MySQL one.

Oh, and mostly you can only reach a DB on the localhost...

Wrong, you can reach any DB externaly, all you need is to allow the DB server to allow remote connections, and then you need to setup a user with those privilleges.

Ofcourse, but for security reasons almost any server is (and should be) localhost only. Unless it's your server and you can set it to external, naturally.
