Starting a server.

Hello guys, I'm looking to start a server but I honestly have no clue, I have some java programming skills, I can do that and also PHP, But I never made a server not related to runescape, anyone interested in opening OR explaining how to make one? Linking to a tutorial would be nice too.

I also have a dedicated server, 8GB, 1GB DDOS protection & 1000MBPS Network.

It might be a bit hard to find because it is stupidly named.

And for your information java skills won't help you in any tiny part of setting up a pt server. The only thing that it could be useful is to build some server side management tools and launcher etc..

You could use some JavaScript skills on an HTML5 website / management console. Maybe? Pure Java *could* be used, as HP have done in their JetDirect Web Admin interfaces but, honestly, it's a PITFA. XD
