Just an FYI in some distros dmd doesn't compile properly, installing gdc (GNU D Compiler) may be a better option. I know I had issues with it on openSUSE, and some Debian based distros (including Ubuntu based). I believe the fix involves installing some package, but you can probably just use gdc instead.

I'm mostly on about openSUSE / Debian derived distros. I haven't used Fedora in far too long. You can make DMD work in the end, but for some cases gdc might just be good enough.
