You guys are avoiding the question..
How do I prevent my school from blocking my website? Stop posting other solutions to proxys!
I'm not very familiar with anti-proxy security softwares that schools [and other businesses] use to attempt to stop people from bypassing their network-wide blocks.
But, I do imagine that, most of the time, new proxy's aren't going to be blocked manually. So, how does one know a site is a proxy site?
- Remove your proxy from all directories/etc. Don't link to it anywhere that may be mildly public. Keep the link private.
- Make sure the domain has nothing to do with a proxy. Perhaps put the proxy in a subdomain, and have the domain point to a normal website.
- Send 404 headers to the browser when the main page is loaded, as a spoof. (Not sure how much, if at all, this would help.)
- Add and configure a robots.txt to make sure your site isn't viewable by any bots [ex. search engines]. This may also help with anti-proxy systems.
- Modify all meta tags to either nothing or to something completely [fake] 'normal'.
- Remove as many mentions of proxies/etc on the site as possible. Even form element names. Modify identifiers/etc in the html and the javascript that may identify your site as a common proxy script. Add in fake text about some random topic, once again, as a spoof.
Basically, you want to keep your proxy as hidden as possible from the public, as well as keep it as inconspicuous as possible from whomever is viewing it.
(Some of the above suggestions may not be beneficial at all; some may even be a poor idea or just asinine. GFL.)
