Unsolvable? Rose server problem...

Hey.

I followed the Mega Guide to rose servers, twice on two different computers, double checking each bit, and they both come up with the same error.

When i have 127.0.0.1 in the .bat it works fine, but as soon as i change it to my LanIP, i can login, and the servers recognise it whether at a computer in my house or at a friends, but then when i choose a world it says server undergoing maintenance.

I am directly plugged into the internet(broadband) and have turned of all my firewalls.

I have double and triple checked all IP's and codes, and read through hundreds of posts. And no-one seems to have had the same problem.

Anyone got any ideas? Im a bit baffled.

sounds like it may be a bad setup w/ the ip's in the configs and database.

if its on local host you can only connect from your house or a computer on the same network
127.0.0.1
should work for the computer your running it on but no other computers
i would suggest using a program like hamachi if its only going to be you and some friends playing unless your going to do a full blown public server
then you should get a host and follow the guide and it should work fine

Im going for the full blown public server, but will start with friends. What does hamachi do (i will look into it)? And to the other people above, it is definatel not a problem with the IP's because i have check them hundreds of times.

And i cant port forward if i dont have a network router.

Try using your default gateway IP.

Look, he just said he triple checked his ips, give him a break. I have the same problem, And I know my freaking ips are correct, it just doesnt work. It's the exact problem as him, And no1 can help me.

I am haveing a simular problem first I could get to my charcter select screen and then I would pick my charcter and it would just quit no error no anything just quit so then I tried to reinstall the client and followed the guide word for word again and now it is giveing me a server maintenance error when I go to login I cant even login to the game now so yeah........

If anyone has a soultion to this problem it would be appreciated much. As Im sure many have had this problem as well, it seems when you have the external ip in the correct places, the outside world can connect but when you try to connect using a computer on the network it sits there then times out with a maintenance message. I have found either I can change it to a network address such as 192.168.1.94 and connect or change it to my external and they can connect but i can not. NO i am not trying to play it on the same computer........ NETWork computer.
Sorry its getting a little annoying to the fact it shows network ip's in the conf files but they dont work as they should seeing they do list as *lanip*. You would think if it list as that then you would simply be able to change it to your lan and play with no problem............
