[VB6]Open port checker

[What Can I Say]

Has anyone got ANY idea of how to check if a port is open using VB6.

I tried:

Shell("Explorer http://www.utorrent.com/testport.php?port=" + Text1.text)

But it said that the text1.text was not a directory

If i put 6887 in the text1.text the following would show up: The directory 6887 does not exist.

Any help?
