Versions versions versions!

Im confused.

max98's server and Intellegence's server are for version v15 but can support v17?

So to use their server, i should get a v15 database?

But i can use a v17 client, since both server supports it?

So far, i followed the video guide which says nothing about versions, making it hard to find replacement for deadlinks.

With max98's server, the client could not reach the server. "Login Timeout" i guess.

With intelligence's, the client could not get pass the character select screen (freeze).

So i tried with v17 database + old character database from the video guide (v17 was broken, Intelligence's couldnt reach character screen)

It made no difference but these are the log files (also attached):

I did copy the model and world folder from intelligence's into the client btw..

I havnt tried the v15 database. its 4:38 am.. im going to sleep.

Hey. im using Intelligence Server files aswell. and i get the same error.but unlike yhu im able to go into the server and play around and what not the onli thing is that when i attack a monster or a monster attacks me the world server crash..... Btw im using Eflyff client.

umm im not sure how thats the same error.. but probably your client is missing some effects or texture files

hmm.. maybe my client isnt compatible with the server..

i tried v17 from the release section and the one from the video guide.

Those files are not quite the best out there and they're full of bugs as the releasers haven't fully sorted those out.
I would recommend you to take an easy-to-use Source and compile that, then take the bins and run those with any v16-v18 resource (for example Max98's or Intelligence's. If I were you I'd go for a clean resource from the Flyff client, and then modify that to your own needs)

Gravious is right. It's better to customize your own Files than to depend on the files that are released because those has lots of bugs and will never make your server stable and balanced. As long as you know how to code, you can do anything you like.

Ok, i'll look into compiling.
I got some basics in java and c/c++

but what about the database and server version? can i use any database version?
