Unfortunately, we have experienced significant hard drive damage that requires urgent maintenance and rebuilding. It is possible to be run on a VPS but, one flaw to consider. If you get attacked so do the others that are sharing hosting with their own VPS. This means if you are attacked you could be blocked for interfering with other's VPS. A dedicated is always a better idea.
