hello everyone. .here's the thing. .i have a friend who's making a Talisman Online Private Server and its all good because we can connect but there's one problem. .his WAN IP constantly changes every 4 to 5 hrs meaning that the server's IP always changes and we have to change the IP on launcher to connect to server. .some say he should get a static IP but are there other ways?. .Pls help us on this one and we would be really grateful for any kind of help.

I'm sorry for posting on different threads because i don't know where to actually post this. .

yea
you have to use things like No-IP client:

First go to
and register an account.

activate ur account. log in.
when u are logged in ur no-ip.com account

click on the button "Hosts/Redirects"

once inside click on

"Add a Host"

Hostname: *Whatever name u want.. for example MYTALISMANSERVER

it can have any termination:
*no-ip.org
*servegame.com
*sytes.net
*etc....

INSTALL no-ip on ur linux machine:

sudo apt-get install no-ip

and follow the steps till its done :P

Host Type *Select Port 80 Redirect

and its gonna ask u the WAN IP of ur server.

if u don't know what's the WAN IP of ur server.

go on linux, open firefox and type My WAN IP - IP Address Detection (mywanip.com)

and in port we will use the port 8080

then click "UPDATE" button.

(If u use a router: U should redirect ur port 8080 to ur LAN IP of ur Linux Machine (KNEMO IP))

No-Ip client (you must instlal it on your linux/ubuntu) will constantly check your real WAN-IP and will "translate" it to an domain, for example: myTOserver.servegame.com

That way ppl can reach your server under the domain and doesnt matter anymore if your WAN-IP changes.
