Weed first time

It's addictive, whatever people say, it's addictive. Although, unlike cocaine it's not physically addictive, but once you smoke it daily it's going to be a habit and you'll NEED it.
But you don't have to worry about the first times you smoke it.
No, just no.

There are certain requirements for something to be addictive, weed doesn't fit the requirements. There is no physical addiction like you already said and since there is no psychological withdrawal either, you can't label it as addictive.

Weed can be used as an escape, the same way that many other things can be used as an escape, this however doesn't make it addictive, the second they don't have weed they will just find something else to escape in, hence it's not the weed they are addicted to but the escaping.
Funnily enough, you mention yourself that it's a habit, but that's quite different from an addiction. Habits are things you 'taught' yourself or others like your parents taught you to do, for example locking the door instead of just closing it, washing your hands after going to the toilet etc. An addiction is actually what you truly need, what you crave, if you don't get it your get withdrawal symptoms.

One piece of advice. Don't smoke a lot because you don't feel it; it WILL kick in. Also don't smoke too much. I have puked once because of going past my limit.

What you dont feel if you smoke a lot?
you didnt went past of your limits you just mixed it with something else and that made it happen.

I've only had it twice, first time nothing really happen. Second time, it wasn't exactly hallucinations yet felt like room was spinning a little and I felt really aware of everything, time, people, hunger yet not being able to do everything about it, very strange sensation.

It is not an addictive drug physically as there is nothing in it for the body to eventually crave for. More to do with the mind and what you mentally feel like you need.

Enjoy and do safely. ^^

Pay attention because I'm only going to post this once and if you miss it and become missinformed then it's your own fault.

1) Cannabis has no chemically/physically addictive properties what so ever, the only addiction one might face is a psychological addiction which will only occur if you have the willpower and brain size of a bluebottle fly. Any psychological addiction can be overcome in seconds unless you're in quite extreme situations i.e. you're entire life is fucked, everyone around you is dying and it's all your fault and nothing you can do will change the fact that you're poisoning those around you. The majority of addiction to weed is actually from the tobacco mixed in to help it burn better. People end up getting addicted to the nicotine from the tobacco but they only ever get it from the spliffs they smoke and as such associate it with said spliff and mistakingly believe that they are addicted to the weed itself.

2) No Hallucinations, well at least in 99.9999999999999999999999999999% of the time but there was this one batch several years ago that made me see wierd **** but I'm pretty sure it was laced because cannabis isn't a halucinogenic.

3) First time usually involves not smoking it properly or not realising the effects it is already having on you but since you have nothing to compare it to and it doesn't change you or the world around you in any drastic, major, important or unimportant way. Here's a hint, if you get the giggles or start getting hungry then it's working.

4) that's the same question as the first one idiot, speed of addiction doesn't matter when there's next to no chance iof addiction. If you want to smoke then smoke it, ifyou don't want to smoke it then don't, it really is that simple.

PS: If in doubt find out where I live and come smoke a spliff with me, by the end of it you'll be better informed than the bbc.

I can't help but feel really tempted by this comment. I haven't had any in a good 7 years now. You better come to the next rageparty and bring some. O.O

The first time I smoked it, it was a joint rolled up in a rizla with a bit of tobacco. It will make your eyes go red, and if you start laughing it will be quite hard to stop, you will feel very hungry and you'll feel light headed. After that, it will put you to sleep. Well, that's my experience every time I smoke weed.

It's all mind over matter, some people develop dependencies after prolonged use but if it's your first time you don't have to worry much about that for a pretty long time lol. All you really need to take into account is your probably gonna like it, especially if your smoking with friends for the first time and having a good time. After that, if your going to continue smoking you need to be able to realize when enough is enough and the right times to do it. If you can keep it in moderation then your fine, you'll function and nothing will change in your life. You can smoke weed at the end of the day but you'll still get things done. You also need to realize if you don't like it no biggy, don't be scared or paranoid just go to sleep and you never have to smoke it again.

Well you can't read, alienated. I believe I stated "you don't have to worry about the first times". And I assume you're the one who never smoked it daily, because speaking for my own experience, weed got me addicted to it.

You just need to picture it, you and your friends smoking it ALL summer, not a day without it, you guys are sitting in a park bench with NOTHING to do (cause we are lazy teenagers eh) but smoking weed, once you do, your days gets a whole lot better and that's what made the addiction.
Once again, weed does not make you physically addicted to it (unlike cigarettes too), but psychologically speaking, if you have a taste of it every single days for couple of weeks, you're going to tell yourself you need that ****.
Thats purely your experience. I use to smoke it daily for my year of high school and was easily able to stop. Hell I didn't feel a need for it in the least. You just apparently have an addictive personality which would allow you to be addicted to anything.

y would you smoke in a public bench ? that right there proves u never smoked because you dont smoke weed in public at a park on a public park bench .
Theres nothing wrong with smoking it in public, granted the fact that your not a moron about it. As long as you don't pull out a big ass bong no one will care if its not overly obvious.

I'd suggest cooking it into something or using a bong or a vaporizer, as smoking it is bad for your health. If you do smoke it make sure not to use tin foil or some **** like that as its horrible for you.
Overall weed can be quite healthy for you, as long as you don't abuse it.
One last thing, be careful mixing weed and alcohol. I generally get sick if I drink before I light up but not vice-versa.(This may not apply to everyone.)

It's not addictive and you can hallucinate on rare occasions, it's good the first time you get insane giggles, you'll get cravings like you crave for anything if you enjoy it. It's also not that harmful if you get the stuff from trustworthy people, also it affects you more the younger you start
I disagree with the hallucinating part, that is totally false. Smoke in general EFFECTS you more when you're younger. Just not marijuana.

Weed is pretty exaggerated in most movies, it actually pisses me off.

It affects everyone differently. When you smoke marijuana it sort of "amplifies" your senses and changes your perception. The first time you get high (and people don't always get high the first time they do it) you will probably cough and it will seem harsh. Weed usually doesn't hit you immediately after you smoke it and it might take you a couple rounds to get used to it. As time passes if you're going to get high you will notice it. Things will seem...different. If you're outside you will notice things look different like the trees, ground, etc. Almost like you can see another side or angle of the world. If you're inside you might notice or become fascinated by everyday things, posters, patterns, etc.

-Music sounds INCREDIBLE while high.
-It gets harder to hold back laughter, most people will laugh at things they either normally wouldn't laugh at, or will laugh louder or longer.
-Time will appear to slow down or speed up or both. While high if you do something then look at a clock you will be shocked at how much time has passes usually.
-Food tastes incredible, you usually get hungry at a certain part of the high.
-The entire process of thinking changes while high. You might feel you are thinking incredibly fast, or very slow. You will probably "hear" yourself thinking much louder or intensely than normal.

Make sure you smoke with friends and do something fun the first time, you'll never forget it!

doesnt matter if you said the first time or not thats not the point . first time or not you still say its addicting and you WILL get addicted to it , as you speak for everyone on this earth who has smoked a joint or gram of weed just bcuz it happened to you .

just bcuz you have low self control and get addicted to it easily doesnt mean everyone else (and i mean EVERYONE because thats in essence what you said, you were speaking for everyone) will .

speaking from my own experience , weed di not get me addicted . so i guess now EVERYONE is not addicted to it because im not ?

y would you smoke in a public bench ? that right there proves u never smoked because you dont smoke weed in public at a park on a public park bench .

might as well go sit at police hq and smoke a fat one right there with the chief of police . and when i smoke, i dont do "NOTHING" . again just bcuz thats what you or your friends do doesnt mean everyone does .

when i smoke im productive , i get up and i get **** done like mow the lawn , garden , do the dishes laundry you know .

and fyi an addiction is when you need something and cant live without it , not when you WANT something and are craving it for a few days or weeks there is a huge difference between wanting something and needing something .

needing would be addiction , wanting would not . come on rebora , if you are going to argue plz at least make sure ur on the correct side of things .

Ahem ...
ad·dic·tion   [uh-dik-shuhn] Show IPA
noun
the state of being enslaved to a habit or practice or to something that is psychologically or physically habit-forming, as narcotics, to such an extent that its cessation causes severe trauma.
source

I am aware it doesn't cause severe trauma but you get the point mate, don't be an ass about it eh ;)

Marijuana is a narcotic, and you can possibly be addicted to it, therefore it is addictive (to some people, not to everyone, but is it because some people don't get addicted to it you should exclude it as an addictive narcotic, nuhhh uhhh u_u)

So, let me get this clear, you suspect my marijuana use by the fact I smoke it on a public bench? You are one very sad man dude, very very sad...

I do not care if some people don't get addicted to it, if smokers can get addicted to a substance or habit/practice then it is addictive, such as sport or sex, HELL, haven't you guys heard of sex addicts???? xD

Anyway I can NEVER be the winner here as I know this forum too much, once you get on an idea you won't let it go until you think you're right, apparently you guys will insist on the fact that marijuana is not addictive even though my point is VERY clear and correct.

Not to mention having a awesome time. ;)

Dude you seriously should be living closer to me. ;)
I can't help but feel really tempted by this comment. I haven't had any in a good 7 years now. You better come to the next rageparty and bring some. O.O

This is purely due to my own awesomeness ^_^

Also I'm making it to the next rageparty even if I have to murder everyone in my way.

Just be careful not to over-smoke. If you smoke too much, you can have a whitey (when for 10min-30min you cannot walk or think straight and you vomit), you can hallucinate (but really need to smoke a lot of strong weed, i suggest you do not do that).

Weed is not addictive, but if you love it as much as I do, you will want it everyday.
Drinking/Smoking/Drugs = Expensive hobby, unfortunately.

Here's a little something to jam to when you spark up that doob and ride the first waves of a wonderful high:

ssshhhhhhmoke

Edit: also, if you smoke too much the first time, you will probably have accelerated heart rate, which can be unpleasant at times but is nothing to worry about. If you're comfortable and warm and having water to drink, you're more than fine. I would recommend not smoking more than 2 joints with friends or half a joint by yourself (long ones, not the cigarette size).

Any more questions, feel free to ask! Plenty of veteran doobers here on ragezone.

Put it like this aswell, If you've got problems on your head ( say your stressing over something ) when you smoke weed. For how ever the high lasts on you, It'll be like you have no problems. That is if you already smoking with a bunch of **** on your head, It's best to go in calm & look forward to a good feeling, and you will get it.
