lol guys when i entered my msn i became a msg from a contact that had the MSG:
Is that ur photo?
And there was a link (here under the msg)
I made the stupidest thing and downloaded it it was an MS Dos file it opened automatically installed without asking me and finally it was a Virus :jawdrop: :jawdrop: that controled everything except Alt+Ctrl+Delete wich i used to try to get rid of the virus i deleted the files that were instaled and the original file that i downloaded but for some reason they were coming back again. So i finally got rid of them with a format cause even NOD32 didnt recognise if there was a virus or some kind of trojan in the files

P.S: the bad thing is that when it is instaled it tries to send a msg to all the contacts in MSN with the link of the virus and the same msg.
P.S.2:Srry if posted in wrong section (i think this is the right 1) and srry if this is posted again by other person i didnt know it before it happened to me o.O

I had this, i accepted it but i have AVG do a scan of everything as it comes in and it picked up on it, so i deleted it and warned the person who sent it. Its just common sense, if the person hasnt said there sending you something, dont accept, if its real they'll try again

Norton is pretty good :D

If you're not kidding..

Sorry for saying this, but you should die...

I used to swear by Nod32, but lately I ran checks and it came up with nothing. So for the hell of it I put on Symantec Corporate, and it found 4 virus that were slowing my laptop down to no end.

I haven't used Symantec much, but it doesn't use much resources at all. So far so good.

Frankly, I either run Norton or no AV at all. It isn't hard to monitor what goes in and out of your computer (I am however behind a firewall). You pretty much have to be a moron not only to have clicked the link, but to have your security settings low enough to where the application could run without authorization.

meh i gto tiny personal firewall 2000 edition :) or something... stops anything before it launches and askes if u trust this program :)... such a good firewall...

where does it say that he did try another antivirus? just cos he didn't use then, doesn't mean they wouldn't have worked.

That's my point. NoPeace said that what others "CAN" do, saying that they can and will pick it up without any proof. Thus saying that NOD32 is crap, yet what if none of them picked it up?

You really need to read...

As for Norton. Their AntiVirus sucks. It hogs lots of resources and many virus are made to by pass it.

I've ran both Norton and AVG on the same system. AVG would pick up everything that Norton did in addition to many other stuff that Norton didn't pick up. So with Norton you pay $60 a year for less service then the free AVG.

Though the Norton Firewall has to be one of the best ones out there. Vary powerful and does the job very well.

NoPeace - out
