Are there any tools that lets you find out the hex code for things like pet eggs?

Specifically, I'm not too sure. I can however say that the PW_DEV.iso has a metric crap ton of crap; so if it's anywhere - it's probably in there! If not specifically, then I recall there's also a few "hex guides" (like the one from Drakaer) as well that will/should cover the basic premise of all "hex data" for the game!

I am trying to move from running 343's 1.5.5 server from a VM to a physical server. Burned the Ubuntu 12.04.3 ISO to a CD and tested it in an old PC, was able to set up OS and install PW 1.3.6 from a USB stick a test run. Now when I tried to do the same on what will become the real server, ran into several problems.

First was the installer would barely fire up and just bomb out with Segmentation Faults. Even asking it to just check the installation media would give seg faults. Read several comments about seg faults here but only in relation to running in a VM under Windows. Tried using 12.04.0 instead and that fixed it.

Now next problem I have is the installation doesn't recognize the hard drive so has nothing to install on. Can you install 12.04.0 on a NVMe SSD? I have RST turned off. I have TPM turned off. Its set to AHCI. I tried moving the SSD to the other M2 slot. Installation still says it can't see any hard drive and asks if I have driver on a USB stick or similar.

I am not trying to dual boot - I want to wipe Windows off the SSD and have Ubuntu as the only OS.

Is there something else I need to update in BIOS? Or is there an actual driver we can just feed into the install that then allows it to work?

Update: Tried Ubuntu 22.04.3 and that sees the NVMe drive no problem. It doesn't help though because then can't install PW server on it

on Ubuntu 20.04, PWServer gets up very easily, there are no difficulties.

Keep in mind, pw server has many writes to the storage drives in turn shortens the life span of ssd drives... Most of the work is done in ram and cpu, if you want a more responsive server increase your ram speed and multiple cpu thread capabilities...

Yeah I basically bought a new Windows PC and repurposed my old PC into a Linux server to run PW... so its an i7-8700 / 12 threads and 64 GB memory so way overpowered for the dozen or so players on my server I did not find any answer to the NVMe problem so put an old school 3.5" HD in it and that worked fine. Transfered MySQL backup + all the DB files over from the VM no problem.

Only hurdle I had to find an answer to was how to get files on/off it. Had tried to find how to set up FTP or some kind of shared drive (Samba) and gotten nowhere, until somewhere in this thread (~100 pages back) I found comment from 343 saying he doesn't even bother and just transfers files back+forth with a USB stick so... that was a workable solution so went with that and it works great

I think most people use winscp... It is a ssh file transfer client where most Linux distros have ssh installed by default...

Honestly, it's not very likely. I have had "direct download" via third parties like 4shared and Mega and Google Drive; however many MANY people seem to have problems with those. Whether there's some kind of limitation (especially for "free" users) or whether the files eventually get taken down (DMCA, or "non use") ETC... So especially to ensure this package's survival a few "colleague's" and myself determined for longevity and survival; it would be BEST to have a torrent of this!

It may be slow, IDK, it may be fast IDK (many MANY people in the land of torrents do "hit and run"). All I do know is there are a few people who will "ALWAYS" host it. Myself included. Now, my current connection REALLY sucks; but I'm still seeding. It's better, again, than the files being deleted ~ or you being told "you've reached your limit" or something of the like; and also NOT being able to (direct) download...

I am pretty sure the "direct downloads" of the server stuff is still available on Mega AND GDrive; but the clients are just too darn big, and I KNOW those are no longer available on my links for Mega and/or G-Drive ; which goes back to why "we" thought it was so important to make a torrent for this! All the clients were so big together too that I had to actually create additional Mega accounts to be able to host them that way ; then OFC I had people saying Mega has a 5GB per whatever time frame for "FREE" users and basically as such they couldn't download the client from Mega anyways!

I also understand there are also OTHER reasons a TORRENT may NOT be "ideal"; CGNAT. I myself am also currently "STUCK" behind CGNAT; and as such - yes, that actually HURTS the torrent. I do not anticipate being STUCK behind CGNAT "forever" though. But unless someone wants to pony up the bill for an actual "SEED BOX"; I will not be "renting" an external seed box any time soon!

So, the ONLY way I could see "improving" the torrent *immediately* would be to RENT a "seed box" (I know many "seed box" rentals include unlimited bandwidth and up to 10gbit/s)! However, I will NOT be paying the bill for such an endeavor... If there are any volunteers out there, to get me a seed box, or put this on their own seed box (though) that would be GREAT (LET ME KNOW) !!!!!!!!!!

I do wish people were more "reasonable" when it came to SEEDING and not just LEECHING... Maybe/hopefully you'll be one of the people who will actually "help" and not "hurt" by seeding afterward...

But really; even if every person that DL'd it just seeded it, it would continue to stay strong for anyone and everyone moving forward into the future. Even if every ONE that downloaded it set an upload limit of a DIAL UP like speed - multiply that by THOUSANDS of people and it would still be NICE AND HEALTHY...

IDK, Maybe people don't even realize they can set bandwidth limitations. So they just hit and run/leech and vanish! I myself often have to decrease the speeds in which I'm available to "share"; but when I don't "need" it, I will set it to unlimited to assure people are getting the best possible speeds from me! (maybe they're just too lazy LOL)

As far as the torrents "health" I have seen it move as fast as several MB/s and I have seen it crawl as slow as dial up (and even slower) (sorry). As far as I know there is at least ONE 24 hour "source", but most of my "friends" and myself aren't necessarily able to "host" or "seed" 24/7 right now... So yeah; just set it to DL and "wait" (you'll "eventually" have/get it) =\

while downloading the files sometimes it is slow sometimes it is fast. Its my 4th day seeding the torrent. I will seed as long as I can a month or two i think.

Create a bat file named eStart.bat or whatever name you want in the same dir as elementclient.exe using any text editor... In that file copy and paste these lines,

Double click this file to launch the client in console mode where you can use debug console...
