Don't double post.

You need the game and the new client from mabako (check the main SA:MP Forum Index for my thread about the new client) and install the client into the same place as your GTA San Andreas game (C:\Program Files\Rockstar Games\GTA San Andreas).


That's all I can really tell you right now, to make sure you have the client and the game installed properly. You haven't told me your problem to a great extent...

Wal-Mart would be your best bet, they should have it in stock. The current version of GTA San Andreas game discs is 1.01 (to allow Vista Basic users to play it) so if you do buy a disc, you'll need to downgrade the game.

hey i got it all running fine in lan.
i got two questions:
#1 whats the gamemodes thing?
#2 can you play the game with full "NPCs"?

A 'gamemode' is the name given to a type of script used in a server. You can have a RolePlay Gamemode, which is just a script made to make things be like real life. Or you can have a Stunt gamemode, which is just a script with lots of stunt areas coded into it.

Playing a server with NPCs is possible on the Multiplayer, but it crashes all too frequently. Using NPCs is not advised.

Your game might already be version 1.0 or it might be a later version that the patch doesn't recognise. Check the version of your game.

How do you change modes and how do you add sa mp add ons to the server ? .

Not sure about the add ons, but to change gamemode, open up server.cfg and in the line gamemode0, the text after that is where the name of the gamemode goes (the names of the gamemode are the names of the .pwn files in the gamemodes folder, you also need the .amx for it to work)

You can get an illegal copy from any torrent sites or warez sites, but to be honest, buying a copy is so much easier.
