Gaming night

That will definitely play a role, but the forum will be the best place to put this all, especially since Steam is not required for all games.

Again once the forum goes up I'll start sorting stuff.

Exy, if you read this before I catch you, could you make a forum in the gaming section?

So far the best voip software we've used for gaming is teamspeak. Vent while having briliant sound options and controls is a pain in the arse to have conversations in especially when it auto cuts out peoples voices when someone else speaks. Skype is generally good but as you said benjy you can't just join in, conversations have to be started and people invited in also it does tend to have massive latency issues at times especially when communicating with people in different countries which screws all of us since we're all from different locations.

Teamspeak servers are cheap, easy to maintain and with the right codecs the sound quality can be superb. My mates TS servers contract expired recently but I plan on getting a new one in the next couple of weeks that'll last a good year before I have to renew anything.

I suggest keeping the general rule we've always had for our TS sessions which is you have to have a mic and be able to speak or conversations end up very confused and split between voice and text chat which tends to waste a **** load of time when something big is charging it's lasers at you.

Honest opinion: It looks like it has the potential to be epic, but personally, I'm not an FPS person. I've never understood the attraction to the genre, I don't have any clue how the hell the genre has managed to stay alive this long, I find it boring and repetitive. I think I'll probably keep an eye on this and show up on the odd occasion where the game of the night ISNT an FPS, but meh... just looking at the game requests as of yet, it doesn't look like that'll be often. I hope you all have a blast, though.
