[help]how to add new items

hello... anyone kind enuf to make a tutorial on how to add items to the server?...
well im at good at modding how the item looks already...
im using vfsnxtgen.. ermm well i dont like the fact that the original copy gets to be replaced i want to have both copies... can anyone help me with this?... if possible a step by step guide or a very simple guide coz i saw purpleyukos guide and i couldnt understand it xD

Adding new items requires client editing, which I doubt you can do (not to underestimate you, but it's hard). The best you can do is edit your VFS, as you are doing. Sorry ^^

from what i understand, the file that would allow people to create our own items and insert them into the server/client w/o replacing any other items... is the .zsc. there isnt a public editor (as far as i know) and so working w/ a hex editor only goes so far... so have to just keep replacing the ancents/braves and w/e else to get your items in....

not to sound like really noob but how do i do that? replace the ancient ones i mean,,..

the best thing i can say is look at Purpleyoku's guide on the osrose forum.. but you read it alot already? or another guide you was talkin bout? anyways

There is currently a good convo going on, about the zsc and replacing the ancients... well yeah the wooden shield ancient i think it is..... when i have more time i can try to right out a tad clearer guide then yoku's. (in the mean time make sure you have a hex editor ready if you dont already! can find them for free off of google/yahoo w/e u prefer.)
