Shawnyall - [Help] SQL Express - RaGEZONE Forums

I re-installed it, restarted my computer, etc., but there is no SQLEXPRESS process running or in my services in msconfig.

Re: SQL - Not sure what the problem is.

Downloaded, but it won't install.

I get this error halfway into the installation process:

[Error Message]
The specified credentials for the SQL Server service are not valid. To continue, provide a valid account and password for the SQL Server service.

[Details]
Microsoft.SqlServer.Configuration.SqlEngine.ValidationException: The specified credentials for the SQL Server service are not valid. To continue, provide a valid account and password for the SQL Server service.

I'm trying so many things. I hate this installation.

Edit Fin: I got it. Thanks.

Try to remove the \

Or try it with PCNAME\MSSQLSERVER

Did you check at configuration manager? Make sure the MS SQL is running.

Yeah, I finally got it working. The databases don't want to restore, though. Apparently my server is outdated.

Edit: I'm updating it now. Getting SP1.

Yeah, that didn't work. Databases still won't restore because the server is running 10.00 instead of 10.50. Updating does nothing.

This is too much of a hassle. I'll just wait for servers to open up.

SQL server 2012's version number is 11.0. I don't know what you're talking about.
