Janus Emulator

Yeah, honestly it's a bit awkward answering on Rafs post so. I don't know about his project but I don't intend on touching the client for now since it's basically another project on it's own. We're already giving you the ''soup'' you just need to find a ''spoon'' hahah. There are plenty of clients posted on this forum with translations already made.
That's fine xD was just interested in what you guys might already have, but I'm not sure how translated those libconfigs are either. It's by far not the most important thing in the world for this section right now.

Yes, the emulator will be available for use, but at first it’s not recommended for commercial projects. We’ll need to test it for quite a while.

As for the client, it’s up to each person; there won’t be an officially recommended one. I can share the base Korean client, and the community can build on it according to whatever they need.
I am truly looking forward to this! I have no intention of using it commercially; my older brother and I simply want to play together to relive our fond memories. We have spent years searching everywhere for a server and client featuring Paula and the new skills, so knowing we might finally be able to play it is incredible. I sincerely thank you once again for your generous decision to share this.

If I may ask, would a Korean version also be available to be shared?

To my understanding the language for the game would default to korean if you're using the 2014 korean client we have archived here.. if you mean the actual code... I'm not sure. Wouldn't code have to be in english anyway? Unless you mean the UI.. but we haven't seen any showcase of one yet. Unless you're looking at modifying the game a lot, you probably don't need to worry about the language of the server files much. Just have the korean client on hand and it should connect just fine to it. You might need some basic knowledge in configuring clients to connect to servers, but we have resources available to teach you how to do that.

The server simply handles the requests of the client, so the client is actually the game.. basically. If you just want to play the pure unmodified version of the game as it originally was, you should already be able to do so with the official final client. We just need the server emulator to unlock the game and tell it to load the files as it should. It's kinda like how Dungeon and Dragons(the client) is considered a game but you need a Game Master (server) to start it. The libconfig is the information both player and game master have to properly communicate with each other, which includes what language you play with. Just provide it to the server and it will be in that language.

Other languages besides korean would require more work editing the libconfig's text from the original korea to whatever language you're after.

I'm not sure if it's possible to like.. go and load another private server's client and play it offline style, but it should theoretically be possible if their server uses the same version of the game as this emulator (kTO2014)

Do note that if anyone tries doing this in the future, you would need to manually edit your item index server-side to register them as something that exists. And probably whatever else they have that's a custom only to their server.. basically, anything extra they have will require a bit of work to load.

Oh yeah, and even if this works, I must remind everyone that with power comes responsibility and advise against just throwing up copies of servers all over the place without a second thought. Running one takes a great amount of consideration, and it is detrimental to the player community if too many pop up at once. If you do not intend to take the responsibilities of moderating and developing the server seriously, stick to small private community play with your friends. (like the person I am replying to is intending to do)
