Hello. I'm new to the forums. I came across this thread in the middle of a web search. I found these two files and was wondering if they'd be useful. I'm not sure how to verify them. I did check and MSSetup.exe does install but it fails to launch because of GameGuard.

EDIT:
I'd like to add some additional info. I found these two files on two separate CD-Rs.
The Data.wiz file was on a CD marked "MapleStory 0.15". There were no other files on the CD. The file has a timestamp of January 4 2006.
The MSSetup.exe file was on a CD marked "MapleStory 0.16". Included with the file were additional files, but I believe they were just the extracted files from the installer. All of those files have a timestamp of February 1 2006. The MSSetup.exe installer has a timestamp one day later of February 2 2006.
I hope that helps.
Dravis already posted most meat of this foundings, but yeah. This is huge, and extremely appreciated you took the time to find if the files are useful, instead of tossing out the CDR's.
I saw the post yesterday evening, but was busy with life, and then of course forgot about it. Thanks to Dravis replying to it I remembered it sooner than later.
From first look v16 seems to be very similar as KMS v1.2.3, which was KMS' patch that introduced the very things Dravis mentioned, but a bit busy to pinpoint deeper.
EDIT: It's not 1.2.3; Papulatus and mobgage are present, which aren't in 1.2.3.
Thanks so much
papakoi having the first version of a "major patch" (basically, sometimes a specific maplestory patch introduced a lot of things, and also threw a lot of unreleased content in the .exe/.wz files) is huge from a preservation perspective. Example v56 is a major patch as well, and so is v67.

Dravis I am curious on your assuming that using older dll's with the clean .exe and new found .wz would work.
Do you mind downloading this and try see if it boots with your setup?

This contains
- v12 dll's (some still matched with v16 byte by byte)
- v15 .exe
- The new v15 data.wz
If it boots and works perfectly, than v15 is properly preserved as well. If it doesn't boot up, than some internal changes may have been made already and it may work on v16 dll's instead. I don't think this will be the case, though, since it was very uncommon for Nexon to be making internal changes like these without major patches.
