I personally have made them work, and i have all but just forgotten how to set the damn thing up... Your silly little encryption on the pstale.exe was not so hard to crack. But as i suspect the encryption was not of your doing. Also, the work done on the server from what i have seen is a bit messy.
Furthermore you have no right to sell something that is not rightfully yours. None of us have the right to sell these priston tale files, they are and always will be the sole property of yedang inc. It is shameful how greedy some devs get these days. After all that money you made off of mpt from NOTHING. In reality, you "leased" some .dat files to players for extortionate prices. Because thats all your donations are really, lease of a dat file that the consumers have no access to other than what your illegally traded server will provide them with on from a team that may disband at any minute, that may never return. If not for everyone else in the community, do it for your supporters who constantly spoon fed you cash when you wanted it for something you had little to do with. For those people, give the other server owners and devs your files so that those loyal players will still have a chance to enjoy something in which they have invested so much. If the greed such as this continues, it is inevitable that the great flame that was pt will soon die out.
This post is not an attack at you. Just something i hope will further your thought to reasoning and loosening your grip.
And FYI- the difference between the "current" MPT files and those you claim to have that are SO much different, is a couple of bug fixes and skill ballances. So dont add conning to your list of current attributes because as it stands the record doesnt look too clean.
FFS Give something back to this community you have taken so much from! if mpt will never return what the hell use is it to u, as soon as 1 person buys the damn thing it would end up here anyway.
Knowing Bob a bit, please don't go full-terminator on me for going off topic for a second here haha, there is a point here i'm going to make.Gzuz, I've seen you around these forums for a long time, and while you originally did your own thing at first I saw you quickly contribute many, MANY releases here on RZ. I respect your opinions automatically, but I couldn't agree with you more about the greed that's been raging rampant over PT since the server community even started.
Ragezone has and always has been a forum to support a large community for sever development for the benefit of all it's users. Which would never exist without sharing. If it weren't for RZ a lot of those very first "leaked" server files that were floating around on about 5 servers for the first year would never have seen the day of light as back then server owners kept a AIR TIGHT lid on the files.I know becase when I played on them I couldn't find the files anywhere, till I went on RZ.
Even then when things did start to leak out people seemed somewhat reluctant, and didn't even make clear instructions on setup at first and did not clarify the specific exe's (unencrypted in most cases) need to match the server exe ect. Then over time while certain people forked off on thier own projects, people picked up peices and started making releases. Files trickled in over time and eventually full repacks were surfacing. The problem however, is most releases are bare-bones, add everything yourself with guides abcdedfg, which is fine for serious devs who want to run a actual server.
But your average PT player just wants to set thier own behind-LAN server and play for fun with a few friends. A lot of advancements have been kept behind closed doors. And when more up-to-date files surface which is rare, we really ought to treasure them and try to use them to make a more current release here on RZ imo. Bob, DK, Sheen, I ask that you consider
THIS sticky thread by Dell Honne before considering the complaints and opposition to this threads existance. It's made quite clear that for dev purposes leaks are fully allowed. But of course im sure you probably already know of it.
On a personal note Rovarav-- Your sell sell sell mentality is the kind of attitude that has helped keep the server development progress in the dark ages for quite some time, which only hurts intrest in and in turn, further development of PT files. You aren't alone in this though, i've met several others who do this too, never got along with any of em. And if your former head GM comes on here in support of the release, then that speaks for itself.
PT is dying as it is, let this release remain, and serve as a possible more up-to-date template to start adding RZ features and work to. RZ has never before had so many talented users that could utilize and advance these files. Why not take advantage of this and come up with a more up to date community release than the Ultimate files?Swezid has a guide he plans to remake soon. A new release could be arranged to go along with it!
As for the relevant topic at hand....The new links are working 100%. A few things I would like clarified though and possibly updated in the starting thread. Does anything need to be changed or hexed into the client to make it connect to the server? Things like that. That's all for now, let the chips fall where they may.
