PokeNation is a project that started back in 2010, since the beginning that
what we want to create is a new Pokemon Online Game, but not just another one!
We want you to enjoy the real Pokemon gameplay while being able
to fully interact with your friends, building an healthy competition.
PokeNation is being programmed in Java, and since the engine isn't
completely done we can't show much content at this moment.

Hey Xavier, im really loving the adaptation you've taken to the game. You may know me from your forums, where i posted the promo video. Your project looks really exciting, making me wish that i was part of the dev team :(

Hey, I wondered if you needed someone to do all the tilemaps for pokenation?

I'm able to code in Java (not networking) and also able to code in most web languages too so I could help out here and there with that if you'd like but I've got a lot of coursework at the moment so I'd rather just hit the tilemaps if you needed someone for that, if not I don't mind helping in a month or so when everythings out of the way.

Hey, I wonder if you need a Game Master. I'm good at being one. I registered at your forums in the name of `-Hex.

Just asking though. :)

I've seen your posts, asking to be a GM is never a good start when trying to be one, but we will have more times to talk with eachother on forum. I saw you're active on it :p

Great development you have here! Waiting for more updates. this will include every pokémons?

Probably not all on the first public release but I hope to have them all in game.

25 fps seems abit fast.

Thank you, I've tried with other limits but 25fps seems fine. On beta stage I might include a command so players can set their own fps limit and tell me what they like better.

Are you using Netty to handle connections? And what is your backend? MySQL? SQLite?

I'm not using netty, I'm using my programming professor's nio library, I didn't have a stress test on the server yet but he told that it is pretty good. About the backend I'm using mysql.

About updates, I've been working on website for a little (used pokedev template) and also on login/registration screens.

This is the current stage:
I'll hopefully finish the login+registration screen on client today and show it :)

Thank you all for the support!

Surely FPS shouldn't make a difference if movement and animations etc is time based using delta? (which it probably should be) Just limiting FPS is helpful for higher end computers as if it doesnt need to be updated and redrawn more than x amount of times per second then it would be a waste of resources to not limit it?

Really nice job so far though!
