Setting up a Mir2 Server: A Noob Guide Mir2

Hi need a lil help plz, when i load my m2server.exe up i get the message saying : Loaded client version information and server table...

blackbullet: go to !setup.txt and make sure the dbname is correct (aka the same name you gave the db in enterprise manager rather then keeping the default lom2_chardb

have you also edited the !setup file in the m2server folder?

Sorry mate going to need a little bit more in fo on what you have and haven't done.

If you follow the guide step by step, then you shouldn't have any problems. Maysure your firewalls are turned off.

I managed to fix that but now im getting a error saying

Failed to create account -1

Cannot create an account what so ever :sad:

have you put the lastest mir2.exe in your m2server folder? and in your mir folder

You haven't changed the ini files, and added your user name a password, or changed the name of your database.

Please read the guide again.

Hi peeps and peepessess

Having waffled through tons of posts,, and advice slapped all ove the place, was wondering it was about time the server guide was redone, TD's edit and basic notes mean very little to me.

The new files apparently dont work with m$ sql, they cause errors and as mentioned in the doc file need mysql.

I had major problems with m$sql 2000 eval, 2000 and 2005 running on my lappy, as they dont like my operating system (xp media).

So over to mysql, which is a story in itself. Although installation is fine and installed the Navicat, couldnt seem to get them working with the server files.

What are the database files, dbserver - .bak files??? .sql files?? data .mb??? are they combined, which to you import. after importing what else needs doing to use them.

It would also be nice for posters that have had a problem to post their solution when they have overcome it, e.g. the keep sql alive error.

euh? mysql sucks lol i use ms sql all the time i run it on mssql 2k myself while testing
