just wondering.. why are the arrancars evil(all hollows actually).. I mean, could they live in peace with shinigami? Or they HAVE to eat people to stay alive? If so, then Nel couldn't possibly ever be their ally etc..

I think it's because of that specific reason that they have to consume human souls to survive. Maybe in Nel's case it's like with the tiny hollows in Hueco Mundo, she ''eats'' the spirit particles in the air or sth.

Fairly sure it was all explained a long time ago when Orohime's brother became a hollow and then again with Don Kanonji.

I think it was something like:
Evil person dies -> becomes a hollow.
Good person dies -> become a soul that needs to have a soul burial (the thing with the hilt of the sword), if too much time passes then they will either get eaten or become a hollow themselves.

Explains it kinda

Just read/watch from the start till before they go to SS and it is all explained in that arc.

Well it's kind of logical, hollows feed on souls, shingami protect souls. So that kind of automatically makes them enemies.

yes but it does not seem like arrancars actually have to feed on souls...

Arrancars were previously normal hollows like the rest of them, with little mind of their own they started killing and absorbing other hollows. After a while they advanced to the adjuchas class, Aizen used the hougyoku to turn them into Arrancar, which also removed the requirement of having to continue absorbing other hollows, else they would become a gillian again.

Anyone correct me if im wrong

They have to keep absorbing other hollows untill they advance to the next class.
