I'm tired of all the bull C++ fanboys say about C# and the CLR.
There is. I don't know who told you C# > C++, but it's a big lie. C++ is used for almost any self-respectable game. So if you were to make games, industry scale, C++ is the way to go.
I was going to learn C#, but since it's obligated (?) to use .NET framework, I resist on using it (if this is not the case, I will learn it though). .NET is incredibly clumsy and slow, not something you want to use for a game or something that needs high performance (like any of my code).
C# isn't too bad though, so it's good to master it
We've been over this, .NET isn't all that big, nor is it clumsy or slow. Also, unless you're working with such a performance sensitive application (as in, a millisecond matters), .NET is just fine.
Use C++ for this. Don't bother with C#, it is not suited for this. C# is and was designed for RAD, namely for GUIs. It was *NOT* designed for anything else. It's just psuedo-C++ style syntax (with no standards conformance and 40% of the language stripped away) that interfaces with the .NET framework. You will be regarded as a total noob if you pursue it

.
I think it's evident you don't have a clue about C#. It was not designed for RAD or GUIs. It was designed to be a new modern language, without all the unnecessary complexities of the very outdated C++ language. It was designed with making the lives of developers easier.
Why?
A C# developer cannot program in C++, however a C++ developer can program in C# with ease.
No. You're like a kid who grew up in a house and never went outside. You see what's there, but you've never experienced it for yourself. Fact is, most C++ developers can't program in C# with ease. As a matter of fact, I was having a hard time learning C++, that is, until I learned C#. After that, C++ suddenly became a breeze.
MOST people never master C++. Even with 15 years of programming experience.
C# and Java can be mastered in a year or two because they cut out all of the powerful features of C++. It's like making a BMW clone with the same body but using a 2.0L 4 cylinder 100HP engine, manual windows & locks, 4 gear manual shift, no CD player, no AIR, and no luxuries. Sure, you cloned a BMW to the outside viewer, but it is nowhere close to a real BMW.
You're wrong. C# is just like C++, most people never master it. It's just that with C#, it's harder for someone to screw up big time than it is with C++. Also, what "powerful features"? Multiple inheritance? Manual memory management? Templates? Macros? You think C# sucks because it doesn't have some of the "powerful features" that C++ has. Well I've got news for you buddy, C++ doesn't have any of the "powerful features" C# has to offer.
I use both C# and C++, and I can tell you, when it comes down to a real world project (unless as mentioned above, for a game, performance sensitive software, or other really special cases), C# is the obvious choice.
