If fixed up it can be, There are a couple a ways to save memory.

New login system, new way to read wz files, The savetodb for inventoryitems and Key maps.

Generic230 probably knows a few ways ;P

No doubt that he does know. In my opinion Odin is the most stable source out of them all, with little to no bugs. I think that way because I'm running my server with OdinSource but I've fixed it up and it stays up about 5 days no crashes, or npc disappears and things like that.

He does know, 5 days no crashes with 0-4 people online?

Even though it's completely unrelated, look at Runescape, MapleStory(real one), and World of Warcraft. Stability isn't impossible... and one of those is completely Java the other two are C/C++, but it's still the same concept. Just because a program is Java, doesn't necessarily mean you can't replicate the power of C++ due to the fact Java is a language that was thought of through C structures (mostly C++ though). You can manipulate the languages however you prefer.

People always need to make someone/something else responsible for their mistakes.

Something that has proven useful that I did was replace some ints with some shorts n' some bytes on .WZ loading(When necessary) to save some memory a bit.
