[If you are not a developer and/or if you do not have the necessary skills to meaningfully contribute, do not ask to join the project. We are not looking for testers at this point in time]
Hey all. A few years back I made a similar post, but as this is an ongoing project, I am posting again as we are still looking for help. To summarise my previous post:
I have been tinkering with an old league of legends client for a while and discovered out Riot shipped full lua scripts and a lot of their server code with the game client as well as debug symbols. I have reverse engineered a lot of the networking and packets of the game (emulating the server requires use of eNet) and have also reversed a lot of the BuildingBlocks system Riot uses to run their scripts. The lua scripts call on a set of API (BB/Building Blocks) and thus to emulate the game it is necessary to implement the API to actually do what the function says it does (e.g. BBIncStat).
If you would like to join the team, we'd need you to be comfortable and skilled with c++. Experience with low level networking protocols (having worked with eNet before isn't needed, but would be a +) and backend development. If you've worked with lua before (personal projects, other emulators, etc) it would help. Experience with reverse engineering isn't strictly needed but would help massively.
to avoid wasting time, a few points:
- If you do not have the necessary experience and skills, do not ask for access
- If you do not have the time to contribute (even if you do have the experience needed), do not ask for access
- If you are only looking to test or play the game, do not ask for access
- If you are not going to meaningfully contribute, do not ask to look at our code
- If you join on the pretext of helping out but do nothing, you will get kicked
- "wHy aRe yOu sHaRiNg tHiS, rEtaRd? jUsT oPeN sOuRcE qUiCk!1!" - if help wasn't needed, you wouldn't be seeing this post
- C# and Python are not C++, do not ask for access
If you are interested and can help, please contact me through discord, my username is kiryukazumanosuke (same profile picture as here). Once I add you, please state your programming abilities and skills clearly and any previous experience that might be relevant to this project. If you waste my time, you will be blocked.
Thank you
