[OsRose(Evo)] Server Setup Guide

I have some problems.
There is no text message in npc's (like quest indications), char begins in the mountains in a hard to walk place (bugged place) and the gate to next map don't work.
I did test with client ver.243/254 both with updates and server with AIP, QSD and STB updated to.
All files used from here.
Thank you guys!

Can I just use XAMPP for the Databases for this server files? Cause XAMPP already have MySQL built-in or i really still need that MySQL 5.1.40 installer? I hosted AION before and its run fine with it :) now i am just wondering will this work for ROSE too :)

I had hosted Rev 80 ROSE before but that things are too buggy and old lol now i am trying this one out :) btw, do you usually update the source or compile it for us or we have to do that for our own? Dannybest is awesome he always does that for us :) and i hope is not too hard to compile the source for ROSE :) thanks for your shares :)

Technically, phpMyAdmin (Is that what XAMPP has nowadays?) should work as a database, though Navicat, SQLyog, and MySQL Query Browser and easier to deal with imo. Also, I would just get the most recent MySQL from their website just cause it's a safer means of approaching things and avoiding errors.

Also, with the choice of compiled or not, always, always, always take the source unless it requires a compiler that you don't have the funds for or aren't willing to pay for. Source > Compiled most always. What's the point of having an 'Open Source' emulator if you aren't playing around with the source? It'll help you learn a bit of C++, maybe you'll be able to make some improvements, or just add a few new GM commands or /go locations. If you need a compiler, use Bloodshed Dev-C++ or CodeBlocks, both are freeware.

This is a question.
I know there is a MySQL database in XAMPP but.
It's much more complicated to edit those settings such as password.
I used it at my own 2 just for showing my webdesign at a company.
But I do not recommend it to use for a server.
And sometimes the server fails at attempt to the MySQL server with no password.
Like I said it's much better to use the way I did cause you are 100% sure you set your config right ;)
that's all I have to say about it.

Hi Aukemon0NL, thanks for the continuous update on your guide especially updating to the latest dev rev.

Also, I would like to add on your guide the below steps on how to setup the database. Changing the steps below since roseon.sql is not included in the rev 81.rar

Code:
Now dubble click on "localhost_3306".
Now do a dubble click on "roseon" it will open some new stuff ignore that.
Now do right click on "roseon" and do "Execut SQL file..."
Go to your server files.(C:/Rose Server/) with the opener.
and go to the folder Database in the Rose Server folder.
And search for roseon.sql and use that file only.

May I suggest that the below steps be executed instead of the above steps IF THE roseon.sql IS NOT PRESENT.

Close NAVICAT before proceeding...

1) Go to the rose folder > Database folder
2) Edit database_installer.bat

Code:
set mysqlBinPath=C:\MySQL Server 5.0\bin

set user=root
set pass=root
set db=roseon
set host=localhost

Edit only the above shown codes. mysqlBinPath refers to the bin folder of your MySQL. I suggest to put the full path of the bin folder. The rest of the codes are self-explanatory.

3) After editing the batch file, run database_installer.bat and wait.
4) After successful execution of the file, open navicat > connect to localhost > open roseon database > right click roseon and click on "Execute Batch File..." > open osrose_backup.sql from your rose server database folder > then click on start. Wait till its finish.

Then your done!

Hope it helps

Thanks a bunch :)

that is an awesome suggestion iamkejin12 :) this does is same as installing database for AION as well :)

EDIT: i got my server working perfectly with XAMPP only :)

EDIT2 :} help why do i get [HACK} on my worldserver.exe? when i am entering some portals such as Valley of Luxem Tower? i can't enter there how do i go to Zant?

Hmm had anyone noticed that the adventurer's plain is the old map? This is causing the [HACK] notification in the world server and it freezes your client. Anyone tried to revert the map to the evo version the said map?

I know about this way.
But since it gave me random errors.
I wouldn't suggest doing it.
When executing on the mysql it runs fine but when I look back I'm missing data or missing tables >,<
or it didn't execute at all.
so I will be releasing the dev rev with the roseon.sql file.

--------------------------------------

About the map problem.
I never noticed it before.
all maps work fine for me.
did u use the client I uploaded?
and did you update it completely?

-------------------------------------
EDIT:
added the roseon.sql to the server files

I'll give you a hint, it has to do with the MAPS folder, JUNON folder, and LIST_ZONE.STB (If you're adding a new map).
I can't seen to find that MAP folder on the server files but can find it on clients but i am confusing about how to edit it lol.

@Aukemon0NL
yep, i updated my client completely and even unpacked those VFS files from the clients and take STB,AI,QUESTDATA on the client and replaced with the server's ones. btw, i am going to try and use STB,AI,QuestDATA that came with the server files to test now ... will edit my post if something has changed :)

EDIT: Client version was 2.78 latest from the official, and i tested with the old STB,AI, and QUESTDATA same result but of course the mobs HPs is lowered and not matched the server ones :) I think you need to test this on your server maybe its the map problems on your server file. for me i hope all things goes well just like rev 80 but of course less bug than that ones lol.

EDIT 2: okay here i am almost out of ideas on how to change the Start Location hope everyone can helps me out and here's the screenshot of it
GeNyaa - [OsRose(Evo)] Server Setup Guide - RaGEZONE Forums
one more thing i even changed the 3DDataPeg's folder with STB,AI, and 3DQUESTDATA from the updated clients same result i am still on this OLD JUNON world :( i am feeling sad before i have everything working but the maps really disappointed me :(

Warning all files are offline - for some reason my account got suspended - i will upload all the files to another server. This will be done when i have access to my website again.
EDIT:
Lucky for me I used up to much webspace >,< So I will be cleaning up my webserver and we are good to go again.
