Re: Setting up your very own Jade Dynasty Server!

well you have to have a user and password
have you tested that username "sa" and password "123456" works or no?
you dont show that you've input a user/pass so i'll start with the dumb question and work my way forward >.<
sorry can't help it.

Edit:
What I'm getting at, did you verify that the msqyl user/password can not only be accessed locally on the server, but also have permissions to remotely access the server?
Does the server have ufw firewall enabled? verify with command -> ufw status
I cannot say whether the user has permission to access your database without your testing it. ;-)

Henmoro would best be able to answer what the default user/passwd is for mysql and whether its set for remote access by default. I do not use this server, but try to help out the best I can based on your responses. :)

Re: Setting up your very own Jade Dynasty Server!

root is local only
you'll need to run a few commands
you will have to figure out if mysql is in your path by typing mysql.
but here are the commands:
mysql -u root -p
(your prompted for roots password, which is most likely root)
(inside mysql)
CREATE USER 'sa'@'%' IDENTIFIED BY 'some_pass';
above line creates the sa user change some_pass portion to the passwd you want and keep the single quotes just as they appear.
(inside mysql)
GRANT ALL PRIVILEGES ON *.* TO 'sa'@'%' WITH GRANT OPTION;
(grants full privileges to username sa)
(inside mysql)
quit;

now test with batgm

Heading to bed soon, so watching for a few minutes for your reply :)

I'll check back in the morning. Too tired to hang out any longer.

Re: Setting up your very own Jade Dynasty Server!

Yep turn off that dhcp stuff. You only use bridged and give the server an IP address inside the server itself ;)

PS here give me a moment to show you the picture of what you have wrong.

This is the Physical Network Card.... I keep telling everyone, stop using VMnet garbage because it is what it is... garbage ;)

Your physical network adapter (like the second photo), enable the bridged protocol Only on the physical PC network card, change the VMware Player (like the first photo), then log into your server and physically set an IP address as you've specified already.

@DemonioBlanco

1. Un-check -> Connect a host virtual adapter to this network
2. Un-check -> Use local DHCP service to distribute IP Address ...
3. Remove value (ip address) on Subnet IP and netmask
4. Choose Bridged
Bridge to: -- Choose your network card --

You should be good. If you are connected to a router, and DHCP is activated on that router, it will give VM the ip address automatically.

@godofcloud

Try:

1. Database name: zx, Type of server: MySQL
2. host: ip address:3306 (its on the direction on the right side of the pane)
3. username: root, pass: root (if you did not change this as default.)
4. since vmware and your host pc is like a different machine, they have different ip address. therefore you need permission from the machine (where your database is hosted) to access from your host.

* Edit your mysql database ( ) and add this to user and host table. make sure you started your game server before doing this.

* add to user table -> host: % , user: root, the rest of the value: Y

* add to host table -> host: ip of your host, user: root, the rest of the value: Y

the above will give permission to batgm to access your game server database since you are running it separate from the 'virtual' machine.

Hope that helps. :)

Re: Setting up your very own Jade Dynasty Server!

host: 173.212.20.3:3306

You have to give permission to your host to access the database server. Or else, any config on your host is useless.

By default, MySQL does not accept remote connections and your host is considered a remote machine so add your host to mysql host and user table.

I've posted for someone else previously about this exact issue, again why we use search...
I answered your question in the above post.

I've converted it here:

DarkNightsComing said:

/etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/
primer cambio directorio /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/

cd /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ <-- command

-------------------------
DEVICE = eth0
BOOTPROTO = static
DHCPCLASS =
HWADDR = 00:30:48:56: A6: 2E
IPADDR = 10.10.29.66 <---- Su IP va aquí
NETMASK = 255.255.255.0
ONBOOT = yes

----------------------------------------
NETWORKING = yes

/etc/init.d/network restart <-- command

archivo /etc/resolv.conf:

ping 10.0.80.12 <-- command: example here (use your router IP)
-----------------------------

nslookup cyberciti.biz <-- command: example test (don't have to do this)

Háganos saber cómo le va.

Re: Setting up your very own Jade Dynasty Server!

Hi all. First of all, thanx a lot for this thread!!! :D
After just 13 hours or so i finaly did it!! :D

Regarding this last topic i want to share my experience:
-After following the EXACT instructions of the main post the VMware stated some "adding of a network card" or something, to get this right one must agree to the option about DHCP, then u get the ip.
Hope this helps.

As i was saying i got finaly my server on, even played a while with Rose :) ...nevertheless i cant connect via FTP to upload de store, etc. files :S little help with that please? I've tryed the ip only; include the destination folder; pass/user root; no pass...but nothing, get a message about waiting for response and then error 530 incorrect login :S
Thanx in advance and gratz for a wonderful work! :)

Congratulations :)

As far as easily setting up SSH and firewall to make the usage of WinSCP even easier...
from command prompt: lokkit
This brings up the initial setup screen in RedHat
You could setup SSH or NAT (for firewall)

You could also go through a few of these instructional posts about strictly setting up ftp (file transfer protocol):

Re: Setting up your very own Jade Dynasty Server!

Due too The PIPA and SOPA bills, the server files will not work for download(megaupload is down) until the bill date has past!

Thanks for understanding!
