He was refering to the little bit of information you provided while asking for a lot of help... Frankly, I was going to respond roughly the same way, since he beat me to it... here is the next set of questions. 99% of the time ANY issue is related to the fact that you did NOT set this up correctly and are missing the required items! Also, 99% of the time the error is right in the console or log files and tells you what is needed.

What Linux Distro are you using...
Is it 32 bit or 64 bit...
Is it VMWare/Real machine vs Co Linux Install?
Did you install the "recommended" packages?
Did you leave the files in the current directory vs change them to another?
Did you extract ALL of the archives?
Did you extract the archives on Windows or on Linux, IE following the tutorial?
WHAT ERROR messages are you getting?
Have you looked at your log files and your console output? What errors do you see? Did you try to resolve any dependency issues?

In otherwords, there are a MILLION different setups/software/hardware combo's. How on earth can we help without at least a little bit of info?

Ok, thank u for help :):

What Linux Distro are you using...
Is it 32 bit or 64 bit...
Is it VMWare/Real machine vs Co Linux Install?

Ubuntu 9,10 server edition, on vmware virtual machine..

Did you install the "recommended" packages?
Yes

Did you leave the files in the current directory vs change them to another?
I extracted all files in root directory

Did you extract ALL of the archives?
...

Did you extract the archives on Windows or on Linux, IE following the tutorial?

Via terminal console..
Loged as root, tar xfvz ''name of file'' -C /

And i got directory called ''server''...
Extracted both .tgz files...
Got 2 folders, called server, and etc,lib and usr...
Those are default linux folders, only inside are iweb configs, and ssl keys

WHAT ERROR messages are you getting?
Have you looked at your log files and your console output? What errors do you see? Did you try to resolve any dependency issues?

Well, fist error i got was that i dont have enough persmision to excute start.sh, but with chmod i fixed that...

Then i tried again...
Yay, so tired, whole day and night i'm trying to make it work
(-crying face-)

Got alot of ''file not found errors''... :/:

Anyway, i have from this link:
Perfect World 136 on Ubuntu 8.04 Server VMware Image
Out of box working server...

I will try to combine ur files with this one, bcz i rly dont have enough knowlage to create server from start.

I'm sorry

PS:
This relase is for MY-EN, INT or China version of game?

Not sure why you posted it there and not here... but... Your gamed is fine... It's up and running... If you are getting file not found, then you are missing items.. You will need Jakarta, Java and Xampp(I Suggest XAMPP for Linux) as well. The tutorial here is for Fedora Core, if you choose to run Ubuntu or another Distro, then you will need to provide the prereqs yourself.

Code:
Starting world No.1
Ë«±¶ľŃéʱĽäĂżÖÜĆđʼʱĽäÎŞ:ĐÇĆÚŇ» 01:00
×ĘÔ´¸ůĿ¼:'/server/gamed/config/world/'
Create grid: 800*800 with step 25.000000
Grid Region: {-10000.00,-10000.00} - {10000.00,10000.00}
Á¬˝ÓÔ¶łĚÓÎĎ··ţÎńĆ÷:'arena01'Ł¬ĘąÓĂUNIX·˝Ę˝:/server/tmp/gssock_arena01

There anything special you had to do to get this working? I get some dialog that pop's up immediately when logging in. Nothing on the console side of things. I'm thinking it's my version in glinkd's gamesys.conf. I had changed it to check things out with the MY client but soon noticed the only way to go is with the CN client.

I've updated and brought my client up to 1.3.6 with no other changes. Mind if I ask how the "version = 20306" info works for glinkd? I get the same error message in Chinese no matter what version I try. Interesting tho - I see the server fine via the launcher, it just doesn't ever (even try) to authenticate.

The clients different so I'm figuring this is a noob problem on my end - but I can't seem to find the answer in the forums. Also figured someone else would've asked if it was something major but nobody else has had any problems - so it's me. :)

Server run's fine - ubuntu 9.10, 8GB of ram dual quad core, blah blah blah - it's not the box. No problems playing with the PWI client (other than the obvious).

Do I need to apply all the client changes/fixes prior too trying to connect? As it stands just now it's bare bones (other than editing for server/update IP's) 1.3.6 client.

Tnx in advance - if yer gonna flame my noobness then do it via pm where I can ignore it. :)

version = 20306 -> Version 2.3.6 (replate the "." dots by "0" zeros)

So, if your client is ver. 1.3.1 in your conf you should have 10301
